The Maxwell Company was founded in 1959 representing manufacturers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Western Tennessee. Our founder, Mr. Maxwell (Max) had in his mind a few very simple premises--service your customer to the best of your ability; provide the very best customer service; and by maintaining a warehouse in Dallas provide the quickest turn-around time in the industry. Today, some 40+ years later, those principals still define the reason we not only exist but thrive in our very competitive market. Since our inception, it has been our belief that if we partner ourselves with only preferred manufacturers who believe in the same ideals that we do, our customers will get the attention that they deserve--to always be number one.

The company changed hands several times until it was bought in 1988 by its current owners the Dykes family. Having many years experience in sales the company began recovering from the economic turmoil of the middle and late 1980's. And began expanding the manufacturers offerings from the door and millwork area and apartment supply to single and multi-family distributors and now finally into our most comfortable niche the decorative showrooms.
